Dede is the founder and Managing Partner of Pete's Diary LLC, a business she co-owns with her son, Peter Dankelson. She is the primary content creator, writer, and social media manager handling all publishing, distribution, booking, and sales for Pete's Diary band and speaking engagements.

Dede is the author of two books that she wrote, designed, and self-published. How I Learned To Rock My Life: The Peter Dankelson Story is her oldest son's medical diary from birth to age 20. Peter's Rockin' Ear: A Story of Self-Acceptance is a picture book for ages 4-8.
