We're excited to announce that Peter is a character in a new picture book by our friend Patricia Ann Smith who authors the Smile with Simon series.
Smile with Simon is a series of four books written to help children see the beauty in differences and the importance of being kind. Peter is a character in the last book entitled Simon and Patty Go to Camp.
While the series is focused on cleft lip, the books are a great way to discuss differences with young children. When kids are taught there is beauty in how everyone looks, we erase the stigma that being different is bad.
Please consider a donation of these books to a school, library, or child care facility. They also make a great gift for the young reader in your life. We will personally be stocking several bookshelves with these treasures!
