Peter Dankelson
Peter Dankelson is a guitarist, motivational speaker, and advocate who has turned a lifetime of medical challenges into a powerhouse career in music and advocacy. His guitar playing inspires nearly one million social media followers across multiple platforms.
Born with Goldenhar Syndrome— a condition resulting in facial and vertebrae abnormalities— Peter has navigated nearly 40 surgeries to date. He discovered his passion for guitar at age 15, teaching himself to play despite physical limitations and hearing loss.
Peter is the frontman for his band, Pete’s Diary. The original Chicago-based group released an EP and an album before going their separate ways. His Nashville-based band formed in early 2026 and will be releasing new music soon.
Beyond the stage, Peter is the co-author of his best-selling autobiography, How I Learned to Rock My Life. His advocacy as a #ChooseKind speaker for Children’s Craniofacial Association has encouraged thousands of students to embrace their differences with confidence and kindness. Peter is also an ambassador for Guitars 4 Vets, donating a portion of proceeds from his signature guitar pedal to the charity.
Now based in Nashville, Peter continues to amplify his message of self-acceptance through worldwide speaking engagements, his music, and his ever-growing digital community.
